Temperature control (also known as “climate controlled”) is one of the features that we offer at Hwy 43 Self Storage. These units are cooled in the summer and heated in the winter. Our temperature controlled units maintain a temperature of 40 to 85 degrees. Severe hot or cold temperature swings can damage items such as wood furniture, electronics, art, photos , various forms of plastics and so on. This feature helps protect your belongings and is also ideal for clients who tend to visit their storage space frequently. Many times clients will rent a smaller temperature controlled space for their more delicate items and a larger, non-temperature controlled space for the rest of their belongings. We want to provide you with the peace of mind and the best options for your belongings.
A drive-up storage space is an outside storage space of our facility that gives you the ability to unload and load your belongings directly from a vehicle or truck into the storage space.
Roll-up doors are the most common door in self-storage. They are accessed by sliding a latch and lifting the door upward, similar to the motion of a garage door. Roll-up doors allow you to maximize the usage of your space.
We offer a wide range of storage space sizes to accommodate your needs. Our storage space sizes range from 5' x 5' up to 10’ x 30’. Our management team can also provide professional assistance in choosing the right size storage spaces.

Yes. This is a very appealing feature for our clients and allows ease of move in during any Wisconsin weather conditions. The garage area will accommodate up to a 20' moving van or moving truck with the overhead door closed. The overhead door to this enclosed load in/load out area can be open for a maximum time of 10 minutes at a time.
We do not currently offer moving supplies for purchase.
Pack the storage space carefully. Most of our spaces are eight feet tall so you can stack your items to maximize the space. Leave air space around the perimeter to aid ventilation. Place cardboard or a pallet on concrete floors and do not lean items against walls. Leave a walkway to the rear of your space for easy access. Place frequently used items near the door. Think of ways to conserve space (i.e. do the legs come off the table? Can your linens be placed inside the dresser drawers? How about tipping your mattress up on its end?). We always recommend using furniture covers, mattress covers and the like to keep items as clean as possible inside your unit.
Fill containers to capacity. Partially full or bulging cartons may tip or collapse. Heavy items like books or tools should be packed in small boxes so they are easy to lift. Protect your fragile goods with packing (i.e. bubble packs, or other) and place them near the top of your storage space. Label boxes. Take home a list of your labeled boxes for easy reference when you need to locate your items.
No problem. If the storage space size you want is available at our facility, just let our management team know you would like to switch and we can transfer you into another storage space. With month-to-month rental agreements, you can conveniently increase or decrease your storage space size (subject to availability).
During our facility office hours, please report any issue to our management team onsite immediately. If you notice the issue after office hours, please call our main number at 262-723-6450 to leave a message or call the emergency number shown on site.

Since our rental agreements for our standard spaces are a month to month contract, if you occupy the unit at the first of the month, you are obligated for that given month. As outlined in the Wisconsin State Statute 704.19(3) we require Lessee's to provide a 30 day vacating notice. We ask that you stop in or call our office. On your scheduled move-out day make sure the storage space is completely empty, cleaned, swept and your lock has been removed. One of our management team will then inspect your storage space.
We do not require that fluids be completely drained. Small amounts of oil and gas can remain during storage. We request that you place cardboard underneath any area that has fluids in case of a leak. It is the responsibility of the Lessee to maintain the floors of the storage spaces they are renting and leave them in the same condition as when they moved their items into the storage space.
Our self storage units are rented on a month-to-month basis which allows customers flexibility to rent for whatever time period is needed. You rent with us only as long as you need the space and if you know you need long term storage, you can save with our 13 Month Free Special.
